G2S offers physical space in NOE and PACY, the EDF Group’s dual certified datacenters: something we treasure in the Group!
Since 2016, our management systems have been audited every year by AFNOR (“Agence Française de Normalisation”)* to renew the dual environmental and energy certification:
- ISO 14001 for the environmental management of IT, real estate and tertiary solutions;
- ISO 50001 for energy management of datacenters.
The energy consumption of the EDF Group’s two datacenters is an example of responsible digital technology*. Since the implementation of the new approaches, we have recorded in our two datacenters :
- 15% less electricity consumed, or 10GWH/year, even though the number of servers and our computing power have doubled;
- A threefold reduction in our water consumption, e.g. a reduction of 2,000 m3 per year;
- Recycling 97% of our waste, compared to 84% previously;
- 59% less power consumed on average per server;
- 54% reduction in the average power consumption of our supercomputers.
For security, NOE’s Tier 4+ and PACY’s Tier 3+ classifications allow for fault tolerance. In addition, our buildings are designed to prevent the spread of a disaster to the entire site. Our two datacenters provide also ultra-secure and scalable infrastructures for hosting critical infrastructures for the EDF Group’s activities.
